Nicotine affects the production and activity of acetyl choline, according to lots of sources, including this one good for a non-biologist like me:

There is evidence that extra dietary choline can raise acetylcholine levels, and evidence that nicotine withdrawal can result in acetylcholine depletion....so it stands to reason that if you're getting off nicotine, it can't hurt to eat a little lecithin.
