If you take too much of it, the worst side effect is probably the runs. It is basically a fat, comes as a waxy yellow powder/granules that you can get at a health food store. My suggestion is get it unflavored and add it to your regular protein shake or oatmeal or something.
It is already a common food additive, used to make stuff like ice cream smooth and creamy. A teaspoon or so in a protein shake is pretty yummy.
