	Many rivers close by. They are with-in 2-4 hours of the other places you mentioned. Charlotte has the WW Park but not much else, Class I-II Catawba Columbia has the Saluda, it can be low often but has some play spots even at low levels. At high levels it is solid Class IV. The beaches have surf, mostly in fall, winter, and spring. Good hurricane swell if they don't come too close. Not sure what you do, but Ashville would top your list for quality of life. It is a really nice place! Russ
