just takes forever to get anywhere else.  If Santeelah, Slickrock, Snowbird, Cheoah or Yellow aren't running, then you are in no better position than someone living in Knoxville, and are worse out for anything in TN.

My point was that I woulnd't think it worth it to be really close to 5 runs but significantly further from everything else.  Not in distance, but travel time.  If you are looking to get out into the middle of nowhere on the prettiest lake in the SE, then Robbinsville is great.  But if you like to chase the rain and run the best runs in the SE, Robbinsville will lead you high and dry any other time than when the Lake drainage gets rain.

That said, I love hanging around the lake, camping there, and running the Cheoah.  The creeks there are great too.
