I used to teach many of these 3 or 4 week classes. At this club-like learning center students received free food; brakfast, morning snacks of pastries and doughnuts, lunch, afternoon snacks of chocholate, candies and cakes, cookies, and dinner.
The guy was way over 200 lbs to start with but, the gal was only about 130 when she arrived so, her "achievement" was far greater. She just could not resist free food. Ate all day, bringing food from the cafeteria into the classrom and eating it non stop.
When she arrived she had a nice, slim look to her body. When she left her pants and dresses were absolutely popping at the seams.
20 lbs in 20 days at the center. That is 1 lbs gain per day. That is about 3500 extra calories/day on top of what was needed to maintain weight. You have to eat a serious amount of food to do that.
