I am sure the usual suspects will flame your post. Thank God there are patriots that are willing to risk their lives for our freedom and safety. It currently may be a fight thousands of miles away, but let the terrorist strike again on our soil and watch the Democrats blame the current administration for the attack. If we do not strike first, those that wish us harm will strike and the fighting amongst ourselves will begain---again. I seem to remember a time that Dems and Republicans agreed on national security--September 11, 2001. In my short life, 28 at the time, I had never seen a country so united as I did at that time. Everyone seemed to be gung ho to find out who was responsible and to make sure that this did not happen again. For those that do not believe a preemptive strike is necessary, remember those that lost their lives on September 11. It does not matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican (personally I am a Libertarian), tyranny knows no political boundry, except for eradication of those that do not believe the way that they believe. This applies to extremist Christians as well as extremist followers of Islam (or even extremist Boaters and extremist Trout Fisherman). The idea of peace only rests in the ideal of compromise, which does not seem to be an option. The answer lies not with those that fight the battles, but those that have the ability for compromise. Let us all hope that those that have the ability for compromise have the power to do so. |
