I'm probably not going to get a Dogo Argentino, but I will probably at least start talking to some breeders just incase I change my mind.  The top breeder in the nation lives about 10 minutes from me so if I do decide to get one I should be able to get a good one.

I did look into the German Shephard and it seems like a good dog, but I'm going to keep looking.  I just wanted to get an idea of what other people have.  The only breeds I've been around very much are Boxers and Labs, but I want to look into something else.

I don't think I will get a rescued dog though.  At least not right now.  At least when looking at pure breds I can get a pretty good idea of what kind of temperment the dog has, which will hopefully eliminate having to get rid of it later.  I don't think I want to take my chances with getting an unknown mixed dog right now and risk it having some unseen problem that could lead to it being put asleep.  I know this could happen in any breed whether it is mixed or pure, but a rescued dog seems like more of a gamble

I hope this doesn't turn into a flaming post like it probably would on dog forums.  So please, if anyone replies, reply with simply what kind of dog you have and what you like about it.
