Re: question Any dog trainers out there? BiGPoPPa New

for a really long time.  I have one that spits it out readily (sp) and I never had to teach her, and I have one that plays that game.  I have not done what the dog trainer told us to do (the treat every time for MONTHS) method, but he is spot on about every other aspect of all our dogs so I suspect he will be spot on as soon as I set my mind to teaching this new big gullute to let go of the damn ball.  As for now, I shove the ball out of the side of his mouth or stick my fingers in his nose and make it hard for him to breathe.....maybe not the best method but works 50% of the time...don't call PETA, it does not hurt him.  His previous owner already beat all the brain cells out of his head so the lack of O2 ain't killin' a damn thing.  He really is a pitiful boy and has never had anyone that would play with him so I find pleasure in his joy for ball; I'll get busy in the Fall and work on "drop".

Hope this helps,
Katie
