Meet The Author!
Julie Pheasant-Albright to sign copies of her new book Early Ballard

Coined “The Shingle Capital of the World,” Ballard’s earliest days began in 1852.  Before being annexed to Seattle, Ballard grew quickly and strongly, making a name for its dynamic community.

In over 200 vintage images, resident Julie D. Pheasant-Albright tells the story of Ballard’s beginnings and the Scandinavian influence the community has on Seattle.

The author hopes readers “will be able to see what Early Ballard was like and perhaps cherish our heritage, instead of tearing it down in the name of “progress.”

Please join the author for a Book Launch Event on
Tuesday, November 27 at 6:00 p.m. at
Palermo Pizza and Pasta, 2005 NW Market St., Seattle, WA
