It's possible she knew from experience that the meds used for depression and/or panic disorder can take weeks to work, and may interfere with sleep in the meantime. (Except benzos for panic, which I hope she would have refused if they were offered.) She may have been quite rational at the time. It appears that she didn't have her behavioral fit until she felt backed into a very spiky corner by her opponent in the local command chain.
