it's not a clear cut case. There's a SCOTUS decision dating from 1937 (or 1938) that says that the right to bear arms must be considered in the context of the right to participate in a well-regulated militia, ie it's a collective rather than an individual right. My readings of the Federalist Papers (the best source for the intent of the writters of the Constitution) support that view.

An analysis I saw yesterday indicates that very few of the Justices have previously ruled on cases like this so even though this is a pretty conservative court, there's little certainty how it will rule. Some believe that because the court tends towards a strict interpretation of the Constitution they may very well uphold the previous SCOTUS ruling, all  or in part.

The real circus is the plethora of "friends of the court" briefs which have been filed with this case. The Administration filed one that basically says that it supports the lower court ruling (which over turned the DC law) but that the SCOTUS decision should be very narrow so as not to overturn all gun control laws. This position has many Bush supporters very upset. Another brief has been filed on behalf of the "Pink Pistols" a gay and lesbian group which claims its members need firearms to defend themselves.
