A well maintained 1911 is extremely reliable. But if you, like I did, leave a loaded 1911 in drawer for a couple years, don't be surprised to find it locked up. I agree that Glocks are about as pretty as a plumber's helper but they will nearly always go BANG when you pull the trigger. When I took my CCDW course, the instructor swore up and down that he had buried a Glock in sand and dug it up weeks later to find it working just fine. I lost 3 1911's, along w/ 50 other guns, in my house fire a couple years back. I have replaced them w/ a .40 baby Glock, a .45 GAP Glock and a series 70 Colt 1911 that will stay in the box. The first two for carry/home protection and the third because I love the gun. My .02 or is it .015 w/ the dollar devalued? |
