by the time you figure out how to mount the square fan to a round duct, buy the equipment, wire it to a junction box, etc. you may have spent time and $$ equivalent to the more expensive fan; plus, with the cheaper fan, you may have to consider heat dissipation (which may or may not be an issue)and consider that in your mounting approach whereas with the duct fan, somebody else has already done that thinking for you.
