note I've parked the RV (11 mpg), possibly forever, use the F-250 (14 mpg) only when I need the space for cargo,... New

...drive the Dakota (18 - 22 mpg) only between home and work, use the Schwinn (on a good day, 12 or more miles/a powerbar and a half a can of tuna) for short trips and errands and the Boss's new Jeep Compass crossover SUV (24 - 28 mpg) for extended trips including river trips. I'm considering a high mileage scooter (Elite or something similar) for errands when we move permanently to Idaho (I doubt that it's really practical to consider using the Schwinn to run into town considering that the return trip is 4.5 miles up a 16% grade, but who knows?) and I find myself spending far more time just hanging out around the house finding things to do there instead of running around as much as I used to. I see a permanence to all of that.

I am committed to buying the first practical and affordable all-electric vehicle that someone comes out with, and the new Tesla sports car at 120K ain't it.
