who should drive up my driveway yesterday afternoon, but Miss Pink H20.
She needed to kill some time before intercepting a newly purchased Jefe Chico that Chan (HairBoater) would be bringing back from the Green. He lives just a few miles away from me so it worked out for her to stop by.
Now, Pinkie ain't one to just sit around and relax, so I put her to work. My gutters on the back side of the house are reachable for me, but the front side? uh, we're talking about 40 feet up from the ground so they get neglected too often.
So I told her to gear up, because it's time to rock and roll.
Now the best way to do this is to use 2 throw ropes. in this case, my 50 ft and her 70 ft. We throw the bag end of her 70 ft rope from the short side, over the roof to the tall side. Then, using a biner, attach my 50 ft to her rope and she grabbed it from the front side, pulling my stronger rope on over. I use the chimney as one of my anchor points, and then belay the rope to the bottom rail of the deck.
Also involved is a harness and expandable ladder.
Here is the result:
Yeah, she had to wear that damn pink helmet....
Anyway, she started out with Tevas, but she kinda slid on that metal roof...so we decided bare feet would work better.
Damn those feet are big...and look at those long ass toes...gross!
Anyway, you've probably figured out by now that I'm afraid of heights and you're right.
So she climbed right up that ladder like the fool she is...
and for about 15 minutes my neighbors heard us yelling, "Pull......slack...what?...I said pull...oh ok...slack....GIVE ME SOME SLACK......PULLLLL.....slack...ok, I'm done"
Then, for some freakin' reason, she wanted me to get a shot of her mooning, but I convinced her to keep her pants on since this is a family forum...
Dang! wish my ass was that small...course she only weighs 90 lbs soaking wet.
Anyway, she got the job done and then I had to make her take that helmet off...for some reason she thinks it's hot lookin'.
After we got everything dismantled and put up, she went to a place down the road and got take out for us....pretty good meal, I might add.
And yes, that damn boat showed up after listening to her pine for it most of the afternoon. She ended up spending the night and we enjoyed waffles and hot coffee for breakfast.
Then, you know how people with new boats are obsessed with getting it outfitted, so after breakfast, she did just that in my garage and then was off to the Ocoee.
Thanks, Miss Margaret, for all your help!
