all made it to 240,000 + miles.
The 1988 was great and had only one A/C compressor issue for about $300.
The 1997 had an auto tranny and needed about $900 worth of work.
The first 2000 Outback needed about $500 worth of clutch work at 190,000
My latest 2000 Outback hasn't needed anything yet, but it only has 110,000 miles on it.
I have found them to be very economical to drive for the 3 - 4 years I keep them. I usually sell them for about $1000-2000 less than I pay for them while putting about 150,000 miles on them. Very cheap transportation.
