There are scattered conversations down below about cable and XM. I'm sure some of you have money to give away and don't really care.....but for those of you who take the decision seriously, what shows/stations/etc are deal-makers or deal-breakers?
I don't have fancy radio, but I rented a car with XM and it was mixed.....bad reception in river canyons. Plus, when traveling especially, I like local dj's and commercials- makes me feel a little bit more connected with where I am traveling. The comedy stations were fun though.
I went years without TV, but got cable last year. I can honestly only think of one show I like on cable- Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations on the travel channel. I really don't watch any other cable. TLC, disc, history, etc have really really really poor quality stuff that isn't very educational. I watch pbs much more than those channels. Beyond that, there are a couple shows I watch with my gf that are on the broadcast networks.
So for me, No Reservations is the single show that makes cable worthwhile.
ps, i don't watch sports at all.
