Because if gas is $10 a gallon we don't have a mass transit system available, certainly not on a country-wide scale, to go to.  We don't have anything but our cars to get around, and trucks to move things like produce.  Easy to say, "Ride your bike" but if you live 30 miles from your job, you'll either lose your job or keep driving a car.It's not like Europe, Wilko.  $10 a gallon will shut this country down.
