	been there, done that. you probably know this but you should get a seperate meter for the water you put into the pool as its not being treated afterwards and it knocks the cost of each gallon you purchase. also, may i also make the recommendation that you use "smart sticks" that go in your skimmer and ask folks not to pee in your pool as you can do the chemical thing cheaply. good luck and for the record i'll never own another house with a pool in it.
