question I've got a question New

How many think little wesser on the nantahala is a class 3?
I've paddle a lot of class 4 rapids that are easier.
If it wasn't for the hole at the top it would be a class 3.
Was wondering if anyone else thinks it's a hard rapid in a kayak.

smile Why don't you ask on BT?  Are ya skeert? <NT> Turtle81 New
smile Hell yea.......theres too many go  pro boaters over there. <NT> snacker55 New
note anything a kid can take a duckie down is NOT class IV DangerJudy New
feedback It's harder than these snacker55 New
note "kid in a duckie" refers to the fat kids from church groups not paddlers DangerJudy New
note Nanty is a bit anomolous.  With few exceptions, the level doesn't change much laughingtotem New
note I agree....but I don't run them at the higher levels. snacker55 New
note You are talking about the lesser weeser aren't you? <NT> Will_Carry New
note Big Wesser is kind of benchmark class IV- /IV to me.  Multiple moves in heavy water. <NT> Terrell New
feedback I think Double Trouble is a notch above Little Wesser. <NT> gargoyle New
note really?  I think DT is a lot harder to mess up the line than LW <NT> DangerJudy New
note Double Trouble is quite a bit "bigger" than Wesser.  Here we go with the definition.............. Terrell New
note With Bull Sluice the "cross currents" criterion comes into play. <NT> Oci-One.Kanubi New
note You people have no Class. <NT> BoatCaptain New
note Hey, who let YOU in?!?!  I'm not buying you a drink. <NT> Turtle81 New
note I am not going to let you have any of my supper!!! BoatCaptain New
smile What are you drinking, sir?  Please, let me get your next round. <NT> Turtle81 New
smile How about a nice piece of cow, Kyle? psychicmidget New
smile Screw U Guys I'm Going To The Beach! DangerJudy New
smile Sweet!  A farmer's tan to go with the atrophied arm.  Have much fun! <NT> Turtle81 New
doh Damn! That was funny! Mean...but funny! (sorry Judy...) psychicmidget New
angry ... DangerJudy New
note OMG I HATE that clown.  But Murderface saves the scene! <NT> Turtle81 New
th_up Have fun at the beach..........I'm off in the morning to WV <NT> gargoyle New
note It was a class IV in 1977 the first time I ran it in a 15' Blue Hole canoe. Will_Carry New
more With inner tubes as floatation. Those were the days. Camp anywhere free. <NT> Will_Carry New
note I think calling it a class 3 is pushing it. class 3 is a named rapid on the ocoee <NT> FlailingProbe New
note Personally I would call it a II+/III- but as DJ points out, AW calls it a benchmark III. GRITS New
note Good thoughts, but read the definition of class 2 as if you never read it before, and then think hard about it. ezwater New
note That's why I pointed out the AW rating, but I do have a problem with some ratings. GRITS New
note Try and picture in your mind what it would be like to come through Lesser Wesser if you had never run it before, never ezwater New
note Haven't run the Tellico. As for ratings, either you use AW or you don't. GRITS New
note PS for something more objective than my personal opinion, try on these stats for size. GRITS New
doh You haven't run the Tellico? OMG - You need to get your hind end over there next time it rains!!!... Pinecricker New
sad Yeah, I'm sure I'd like it but it's at least 3 hours away, and if Tellico is running... GRITS New
note Hayulll; I'd drive from Winston-Salem if I knew the Tellico would run all weekend. Oci-One.Kanubi New
