...and simply ignore him. People who reply at all to him only serve to feed him. If enough people would just let the crickets chirp in any thread he starts eventually he'd tire of the game and move on. His retching back right wing talking points really only amounts to the neighbor's yappy little dog barking over the fence while you're on your back deck trying to have a meaningful conversation. The dog's input contributes nothing of value to the conversation and only serves to make it somewhat more difficult to communicate, but eventually you get used to the noise and it goes away. Eventually the dog tires of yapping and finds something else to amuse himself with.
Buster (actually "Buster" is his dog's real name, like "Decker" is decker's dog's name) will continue to be a problem as long as people insist that he be put to rights. He has so far demonstrated no willingness to engage in an exchange of ideas, only to regurgitate right wing talking points and other iconoclastic rhetoric calculated to inflame and enrage, and so far he always seems to find someone to take up the gauntlet. That's too bad, because, like other's of his ilk in the past, he only tends to draw the timbre of the forum down to his level.
My recommendation would be that no one here directly respond to him, ever. There is no need, pretty much everyone here knows his take on life and no matter what anyone says he's not going to give an inch. Why bother addressing him at all? For issues like your well thought out and reasoned response to his callousness WRT Kennedy's cancer you can bring it up and express yourself without directly responding to him.
Good on you for the apology though, I respect that highly. |
