the works. Thier NICU (neuro intensive care unit) has 80 beds. 80!!! That's bigger than many regional hospitals!! Blew my mind when I first saw the waiting room. It took me weeks to find my way around.  And they've got 2 elevaters in the new hospital (the one with the ER) that got straight to the roof where the heli pad is, and the elevators can fit 4 gurneys in them, or a car. They are the biggest freaking elevators I have ever seen.

I tell ya, if I am ever shot, I want to be treated at UAB.

Now, if I've broken a bone, I'll probably be waiting a while. Which is fine- because the docs are handling the real emergenices.
