They used a cordless drill on me.  While tending to my pin, which was actually a screw, my doctor cheerfully told me the story of a time when, serving as a resident at a local trauma center, they had to remove a plate from a WWII vet whose arm had become infected at the site of the plate.  After cutting in, they discovered that the plate, being one of the originals, was held in place with ordinary stainless phillips head screws.  Modern plates are done with torx screws, and they didn't have a phillips head screwdriver in the OR.  They had to send somebody out to the hardware store, get the screwdriver, and sterilize it before they could continue.   You'll have it easy.
