You're correct, no one really knows why people dislike or fear homosexuality, but for those for whom it seems to cause the most concern are probably the very people for whom it is perceived as an OPTION. For the groups mentioned above there is no option, but for those who identify themselves as hetero but for whom homosexuality holds some temptation, that fact creates the fear that leads to unreasoned prejudice and hatred. Who else could fear homosexuality as something that can be spread by conversion than someone who perceives themselves as convertible? For most of those for whom homosexuality is not an option, those who ARE homosexual and those who are solidly heterosexual, there should be no reason to fear, and consequently have cause to hate, homosexuals. |
