You seem to believe in moral relativism, i.e. that morals are personally developed and vary by the individual perspective. But then I don't see how you can condemn the choices of other people, which doubtlessly arise from within their own personal morality--which is likely different from your own.
On the other hand, if you believe in moral absolutism, i.e. that everyone should follow the same morals, then by condemning others you are essentially wishing for no one to join the U.S. military at all. That would make it hard to defend the nation.
I get your point but I think it is utopian. I do not understand how, by a practical application of your morals, individual soldiers can be expected to get us from here to there. |
