I pull mine off the topper but it really only gives me about a five percent savings in mileage, which is still worth it at present gas pricing.
They replaced the rear end in the Frontier after it was hit with one with a higher gear ratio. Averaged right at 20 mpg on the interstate with the rack on with a boat on it and about 600lbs of boating and camping gear. That's at least 15 percent better than I used to get with the lower geared rear end. |
