I have never defended the actions and policies of the administration. What I have done is question some of the charges that you and others have directed at Bush. I have never said that these charges aren't true, but rather asked if you know they are true. Questions like that do not constitute a defense, yet they are almost always taken that way. I really don't get why.
I am skeptical of the position you hold as I am skeptical of the position you often assume that I hold. The truth is that there is as much disinformation and disingenuousness coming from Bush detractors and there is from Bush supporters and I simply want to know what's true and what's false.
My questions are most definitely is to encourage debate and hopefully to find out some information that I don't have, but so far I've just heard the same old unsubstantiated accusations. For every well-reasoned argument in favor of your position, I can find one against it.
I haven't made up my mind and probably won't for many years. We're still in the midst of this thing, things are still developing, new facts still unfolding. I suspect that there's some foul play on the side of the American government, but I think it's a mistake not to be equally suspect of the detractors.
What can I say, I'm a skeptic. I take almost everything I hear anymore with a grain of salt. |
