I've got a tire question and could use a little input here...
I live in a CO mountain town and do quite a bit of local-only driving during the winter. It snows a lot but the roads are kept pretty clear. The can be icy at times, though. I drive a 4WD Toyota pickup with 200 lbs. of sandbags in the back for added traction. I currently have some 2-year old M&S tires with maybe 1/8" tread left. I'm a little worried that they might not keep me out of the ditch this winter.
My question is: 1) do I spend $600-700 on a new set of Blizzack snows, 2) do I replace my existing tires with a new set of quality M&S, or 3) do I try to get another winter & summer out of my existing M&S's?
I should add that I can afford new tires right now and I'm the kind of person that won't put cheap tires on my vehicle.
Thanks! |

1/8 inch of tread is pretty thin. Does it not hydroplane? Playschooler New
If you are just city driving I would get M&S whitewave New
1/8?! Replace those unsafe tires ASAP. Quality M&S will probably do. <NT> TheBadPennies New

I though sacrificing my arm to the rain gods would appease them. Apparently they desire more. <NT> BoatCaptain New
