Che and Christians so any atrocities have been committed by Christians over the last 2000 years is irrelevant to this discussion. The issue is what did Jesus advocate and do vs what Che advocated and did. I may not have paid apt attention in my childhood Bible classes but I'm real sure Jesus was more into "love their neighbor" than "kill the bastards in the name of the socialist revolution". Everything I've ever seen says that Che was more interested in revolution for revolution's sake than he was in bettering the welfare of the common man. His actions says that he was more interested in killing than creating.
Of course, I don't consider myself to be a Christian. I have some doubts that Christ even existed (more likely a combination of several individuals) and certainly don't believe he was the son of God but the teachings that are attribued to Christ are ones of love and foregiveness: qualities that Che never seemed to exhibit in his revolutionary activities. |
