To me, especially when jumping in a raft, say at a hairy portage or something, a flat (drop-stitched) floor is less secure to land in.

So I'm talking about the TOP of the floor, not just the bottom.  A floor with I-beams, at least for me, means less sliding when I leap off the rock with a running start....that sort of thing.

Also noticeable in general when hysiding or moving about the raft to pull in swimmers after carnage, etc.

I find myself sliding on drop-stitched floors but not on ibeam floors.

th_up I agree. Have slipped more than a few times under a thwart or even worse a drybox... EricS New
th_up Yep, I've been in a textured thwarted maravia.  Sounds like a good idea. arrmike New
