so less likely to have a foot entrapment....a line around the raft is good for people who know what they're doing, but if you've got say a 14 footer and you're taking down some inexperienced friends a flip line is a poor idea becasue the inexperienced paddler tends to grab on and not paddle and even worse facilitates a flip by hanging on and pulling the raft over....tends to exaggerate a hit from a wave or hole and flip the raft over.
If you have two experienced people in say a small r-2 raft, then a flipline makes more sense because these people should know when hanging on is appropriate and when it is not. |
