Great you know it's not if but when, when it comes to flipping. IMHO it is in your best interest to get in a big eddy and flip your boat, see how it is getting back on, and righting your rig. Then move on to flipping it in juicy wave trains with big pools at the bottom. I personally wear a waist toss bag and have my flip line set up in a pocket of my PFD for speed and easy access, yep I flip 'em often on certain rivers. Try using a paddle t-grip for leverage just for fun once or twice too. Laced in floors are pretty user friendly, but some glued in floors can be a tough to get a grip on. I like to run a loop of 1/4" tubular between two drain holes on glue ins in each corner of the raft, to grab and to clip into for righting. If you are running an oar rig, be aware of the oars and locks or pins when it's upside down. Be even more aware as you are righting it if people are in the water around the boat. The rescue is kind of rapid/river/safety support dependent. All that you have described can and will happen. Always good to talk and think about the clean up plan when running a rapid of signifigance. If your gear is not clipped or strapped in, it is now river booty and everybody loves river booty.
