	my thought is that a 9 year old as a solo paddler in any kind of boat, with a dog, on water like the Nanty -- is asking for trouble. Soloing a raft is not easy for an experienced boater. If he had enough experience that it wouldn't be dangerous, then likely he'd have his own boat in the first place. JMHO
