Baltic rafts, if you look at them seem identical to Saturn rafts which are sold out of Boise,Idaho. Saturn rafts are priced similiar to Baltic and can be purchased through , I think, WWW.Saturnrafts.com. All these rafts, are glued PVC and for the most part made in China....Vanguard included. The big complaint or lament about glued PVC is that the start to unravel or delaminate after a few years. If memory serves me correcty, Maravia and Star USED to have issues of delamination. Marvia PVC boats are now manufactured under a different process are considered BOMBPROOF. Vanguard and Star, both glued PVC have solved most of the adhesion issues. Baltic and Saturn rafts, which I am almost positive are the same rafts using different names, are also glued PVC. Neither of rafts are sold through middlemen so there should be some cost savings there. I have seen these rafts in both Colorado and California and the feedback I have heard has been good. Throw away the cruddie paddles and pump they give you, and give it a shot. A lot of the people I have talked with want to buy one but think they must be el cheapo fall apart rafts. The few people I have talked with who own them, like them. Take a chance, buy one, if you don't like them, sell it and get a Hyside,DRE, AVON, or NRS hypalon boat for thousands more. |
