Im the son of the person that wrote the previouse message, also i currently work for AVA. let me put it this way bigginer paddler or experianced it doesnt matter.  There are people there of all skill levels. If you are beginning then you can drive five minutes up the road and paddle down to AVA for a class 3 section, if you are experienced then you can walk across the road put in with a 15 foot seal launch/slide, paddle a quarter mile down stream and there poof the only class five rapid on the ark.  as far as angry august goes, you'll always have those annoying ass customers, that ask the stupids questions, dont paddle when you want them to and will paddle when u dont want them to, dont know how to swim and dont tell you till the end of the trip, and they dont tip. there the ones you want to throw in the water and stomp on, But remember your gettin paid to go rafting.... There the most gaulable so have a little fun to there expense and bitch about them over a beer with your fellow co workers. They'll ask you everything from does the river go in a circle, to can i tie my kids into the raft? ummmmmm.....What the hell do you think? But still you have those groups that are the SHIT! There into everything you are, and if they arnt they'll be Docs or Lawyers that praise you for what you do. YOU live the life they always wanted. YOU are free. YOU enjoy your job. how many other people can say that? like the saying goes...A bad day on the water is better than a day at the office.
