1. You should be able to do anything with a customer paddle that you need to do.
2. Guide sticks cost money, something I didn't have much of as a guide.
3. The increased torque of a longer/larger paddle was a net negative because after 4 runs in a day my shoulders would be fried.
4. Everyone loses paddles. If I had paid for the one I lost (see number 2), it would suck a lot more. And, if you need to drop a paddle to help someone, the cost of losing the paddle should never enter your mind.
