Years ago I was on the Nantahala with some friends. They were horseing around jumping off a rock.
I was bored so I sat in the eddy doing this little paddle trick i'd do where I threw my paddle up in the air, rolled over, caught it, and rolled up with it....
Well, this time I missed, which was no big deal...I'd just hand roll up.,
Well, what I didnt know, was that a rafter saw me, thought I was going to die, shouted "I'll save you!" and jumped out of his raft, swimming towards me.
I was about to handroll when I felt something grab me. It felt like a giant bird had swooped down and had me in its talons. I was like what the hell! I tried to hand roll 5 or 6 times, finally I had no choice but to swim. Still fearing I was being attacked by a giant animal of some sorts, I came up with fists swinging, narrowly missing the "superhero". I shouted many choice words at him and his eyes looked as big as saucers.
Needless to say my friends had been screaming at him to leave me alone, but he was certain that kayakers always died when they flipped over!
He quickly swam back to his raft.
Fortunately I didnt wind up with a shoulder injury because of it, like you did. Rest it up, take care of it and make sure to stretch a lot before you paddle over the next few weeks!
Sorry man!
