I think the picture was from the 2003 NZ waveski championships but I'm not exactly sure (nor do I know the spot) - just thought it was a great example of what one can do on a waveski (or what a skilled rider can do!). Check out www.waveski.info for more pics. Hickam was rough yesterday but nothing like that . . .
I missed Surf Aloha but I heard it was a bust. Only about 40 people showed and the surf dropped like a lead balloon while the wind soared. They really need to find a new location to have a good contest but half the people would be in big trouble at any legit spot. A real problem and one that made me get out of the promoting business a long time ago (that and being sued I should add).
Prowler is safely stored in the basement for visitors so . . . keep an eye on the swells and come visit in between shifts! Can't convince anyone to add a deck to their quiver (will keep working on Yung) but do have Elliot talking waveski and Keith has ordered a Wavemaster so we are getting folks to move up to HP. It's all good now all we need is a legit swell!
