Costa Rica due to its strong rafting industry produces alot of local paddlers. There are three main areas where there are multiple Tico paddlers: Turrialba, Sarapiqui, and Quepos.
I did not note many local Ecuadorians but there are a few Ecuador based kayak companies like Small World Adventures that I in one sense consider local.
