Personal info: Love whitewater and the feeling of almost being in control of the awesome power of the river. Grew up on the wild and scenic Smith River in the Pacific Northwest, but only started boating recently in NC. Have been back to boat out west and have done a few Class III/IV in NC and WV also (Wilson's Creek @ -6", Upper Ocoee, New River Gorge @ -0.6', Cheat Canyon @ 1.5', LG @ 2800 cfs). Most of those seemed III+/IV- at best at those levels (except LG, which was FREAKIN' AWESOME!). Looking forward to a day when I can do Linville Gorge, but that will be quite some time from now as I need to learn some hole techniques and perfect my offside first. Still, I enjoy pushing myself to try new things and make progressively harder moves.
