Personal info: Most recent swim: Penrith whitewater stadium. I went there for a day and had gorgeous weather and very few people to share the water with. Had some fun catching eddies and surfing and whatever (I'm not much of a playboater and I was in a GT). On my last run I decided to bomb down as fast as I could, but I misoverestimated my stamina (which, after a semester of exercising little more than my liver, had all but left me) and found myself worn out by the time I reached the last rapid, which is a good size ledge into a hole that looks ugly but hadn't given me any trouble all day. So I take a few halfhearted strokes and dropped into the hole with no speed, flipped, did some unintendos, rolled up a couple times before finally catching some green water and flushing. I rolled up and got stuffed into the side of the river in the run-out and flipped, and I couldn't roll up because I was stuck against the wall, so I bailed. I must've spent 20 minutes retrieving my boat from the swirling currents around the intake. A girl in a slalom boat towed me to shore. I was a beaten man.
